Directors and officers liability insurance (D&O)

According to the Commercial Law of the RL, in the case if a claim is brought against a director or officer on recovery of damages, the innocence of the director or officer must be proved by the director or officer himself/herself.

The Directors and Officers insurance covers: 

• financial losses that may result from failure to perform the duties, neglect, negligence, error or misleading statement of a director or officer (any current, former or future director or officer of the Policyholder) within the limit of their authority and responsibility, and that should be covered under a court ruling or other final decision;
• defence costs - the costs and expenses arising from investigation, execution, review of and defence against a claim brought against a director or officer.
