Football Club „Jelgava”, which will meet „Blackpool” in a friendly game on September 2, is receiving support of JSIC „Seesam Latvia”

On Thursday, September 2, at 17.50 o’clock, a historical friendly game – a test match between the teams of Footbal Clubs „Jelgava” and „Blackpool” will begin in the stadium of the Zemgale Olympic Centre (Jelgava). This game will be one of the most noteworthy events of the opening celebrations of the Zemgale Olympic Centre.

Live broadcast of the game can be viewed on the channel LTV 7 from 17:50. A repeat transmission of the game will begin on the LTV  7 in the same evening at 23.40.

A special support to the Football Club „Jelgava” is provided by the Joint Stock Insurance Company „Seesam Latvia”, which has become a co-sponsor of the Club this year, and insured all the players, including also the junior team, against accidents. Mr. Aigars Freimanis, Director and Member of the Management Board of „Seesam Latvia”, stresses that the main reason why the company managed by him had provided support precisely to this club are the command values:

Mr. Ainārs Tamisārs, Chairman of the Board of the Association of the Football Club “Jelgava” informs that this time no contests for fans will be arranged in the break of the game, but there will be possible to see about 200 cheerleaders (girls and boys) who have prepared a special dance show. Before the game the fans gathered will see performance and parade of the brass band of the Jelgava 4th Secondary School.

At the stadium of the Zemgale Olympic Centre there are approximately 1600 seats. Judging from the ticket sales for this game all the seats in the stadium will be occupied. Entrance to the stadium on September 2 will be opened at 16 o'clock, simultaneously with the opening of a snack bar with soft drinks. Event organizers report that this time only the spectators with special permits will have the opportunity to park the car beside the stadium, so the rest of the fans who come to the match in their cars, are kindly requested to park their vehicles in designated parking places on the Boulevard Uzvaras, the parking lot of the shopping centre "Valdeka", in the petrol station "Statoil" and elsewhere.

About the Football Club „Jelgava”

The team of the Football Club “Jelgava” is the winner of the Latvian Football Cup 2010 and a debutant of the LMT Premier League of this year. The FC "Jelgava" was created in 2004 through the merger of Jelgava football clubs "RAF" and "Viola". Several years the Club played in the Latvian First League. Last season, winning the championship of the First League of Latvia, the FC "Jelgava" won the right to play in the highest league in Latvia, or the LMT Premier League.

The „Blackpool” team reached the England’s Premier League in May 2010. This was secured by the victory in a play-off game of the „Championship” which is the second strongest football league of England. It was return of „Blackpool” to the Premier League after 39 years. Last year when the team played in the Premier League was 1971, and the greatest achievement of the team was winning the Cup of the England’s Football Association (FA) in 1953. The Latvian businessman Mr. Valery Belokon has the controlling interest in the Football Club „Blackpool”.
