If the road traffic accident has taken place in a foreign country:
- According to the relevant state laws you must notify the police or complete the Accident Statement.
- Obtain the registration data of the vehicle involved in the accident and find out the name of insurance company (as well as policy data) which has insured third-party liability of the guilty person.
- If the accident has happened in a European Economic Area country you must to turn to the Latvian agent of the insurer of the party who caused the road traffic accident or turn to the Latvian Motor Insurers' Bureau (www.ltab.lv), which will inform you about the company to which you may present your claim.
- If the accident has happened in a Green Card system country, the claim must be submitted to the insurer of the person who caused the accident, in the particular country. If it is impossible, after returning back to Latvia you must turn to the Latvian Motor Insurers' Bureau (www.ltab.lv), which will inform you about the company to which you may present your claim.
Attention!
Any client of Seesam Latvia who is holders of MTPL policy and who has caused an accident in Latvia or outside Latvia (if the police has recorded the accident; if the police has not recorded the accident (abroad); if an Accident Statement has been completed), must provide in formation and necessary documentation to the Claims department of Seesam Latvia and present his/her motor vehicle after the road traffic accident to any of the regional representation offices of Seesam Latvia in Riga, Daugavpils, Liepaja, Valmiera or Ventspils.In case of any questions please call 67 06 10 00, 67 06 10 42 or 67 06 10 56.
