FAQs

The third-party liability insurance of AAS Seesam Latvia is designed to protect you from unexpected expenses, when you have accidentally, without intent or due to negligence, caused damage to health / life of a third party or damage to the property of a third party, for which you, in accordance with existing law, are liable.

JSIC Seesam Latvia third-party liability insurance benefits:

  • Private liability insurance policy reimburses also damage to real estate rented (hired) by the insured person.
  • Private liability insurance policy reimburses also damage caused by the insured person during his/her study (training) practice.
  • Private liability insurance policy covers the policyholder’s and his/her family's personal liability to persons in Latvia, Baltic States, Europe or throughout the world (at the policyholder's option).

JSIC Seesam Latvia offers the following types of third-party liability insurance for individuals:

Apartment owner’s / tenant's third-party liability.

An apartment owner’s or tenant’s statutory liability arising out of the apartment management is insured.

For example, in the result of a water supply, sewerage incident you have flooded neighbours; due to faulty wiring resulting in a fire you have caused damage to the neighbouring room, etc.

Third-party liability of a building (private house) owner / tenant.

A private house owner’s or tenant’s statutory liability arising out of the relevant private house and the adjacent land plot management is insured.

For example, a piece of ice from the roof of the building has fallen onto a visitor’s car parked  at the building; a tree growing on the land plot is broken by the wind and falls onto a neighbouring house, etc.

Third-party liability of an individual.

The insurance covers personal statutory liability of an individual for damage caused to third parties in connection with:

  • everyday risks
  • real estate management,
  • active recreation
  • keeping of domestic animals
  • cosmetic repairs and renovation.

If you choose this type of insurance, also the liability of your family members (spouse and minor children) will be insured in any geographic area of your choice.

For example, your child, when playing ball, smashes a window of the neighbouring house; when riding a bicycle or skiing you collide with someone, causing bodily injury; your dog slips out and causes a traffic accident or bites someone; in the result of overflow of the bathtub or breakage of a water pipe your neighbours are flooded or the rented residential premises are damaged; a short-circuiting in the household equipment causes a fire, damaging a third party’s property or causing danger to a third party’s life / health, etc.

Losses of the following types would be indemnified: the upper neighbour has flooded your dwelling causing damage to your household appliances, furniture, documents and other movable property;  your neighbour’s dog has run away from the backyard and caused certain damage to you; a ski-runner collides with you or a cyclist rides into you causing an injury to you, etc.
